Upgrade Your Toilet, Upgrade Your Savings: Broward County’s Conservation Pays Program

In Broward County, a resilient and sustainable future begins with small but impactful changes. And one such change that can make a significant difference is upgrading your toilet. Broward County’s Natural Resources Division, in collaboration with the Broward Water Partnership, is excited to announce the enhanced Conservation Pays toilet rebate program. This program not only promotes water conservation but also provides financial support to residents and businesses who want to make a positive environmental impact while saving money.

What’s New in the Conservation Pays Program:

Starting July 1, 2023, the Conservation Pays program has undergone significant updates to better serve the community. The qualifying criteria and rebate amount have been revised, making it even more enticing to upgrade your toilet. Previously offering a $100 rebate, the program now provides a generous $125 rebate. This increase acknowledges the rising costs of toilets due to inflation and aims to assist residents, especially those from low-income families, in affording the upgrade.

Why Upgrade Your Toilet:

  1. Water Savings: Did you know that toilets are among the largest water consumers in our homes and businesses? Older, inefficient models can waste gallons of water with each flush. By upgrading to a high-efficiency toilet, such as a 1.28 gallons per flush (GPF) unit, you can save thousands of gallons of water annually.

  1. Reduced Water Bills: Conserving water not only helps the environment but also benefits your wallet. By using less water for flushing, you’ll see a noticeable reduction in your monthly water bills. It’s a win-win situation for both your pocket and the planet.

  1. Enhanced Performance: Over time, the function and efficiency of toilets degrade. Upgrading to a new, high-quality toilet ensures optimal performance and eliminates common issues such as clogs, leaks, and inefficiency. Enjoy peace of mind with a toilet that works flawlessly.

How the Conservation Pays Program Supports You:

The Conservation Pays program has been designed to make your toilet upgrade journey as seamless and affordable as possible. Here’s how it supports you:

  1. Increased Rebate: With the rebate amount now at $125, Broward County is incentivizing residents and businesses to choose water-saving toilets. This enhanced rebate makes upgrading more accessible and attractive, allowing you to make a positive impact without straining your budget.

  1. Expanded Eligibility: The program now welcomes applicants with old toilets using 1.6 gallons or more per flush.

  1. Summer of Savings: To celebrate the program’s updates, mark your calendar for Summer of Savings starting July 1, 2023. Through September 20, 2023, eligible applicants will be entered into a drawing to win a Gift Card valued at $250. It’s an opportunity to save water, upgrade your toilet, and potentially win a prize to support other home improvement needs.
