The City of Dania Beach will offer $125 rebates on new WaterSense toilets to residents, businesses, and nonprofits by participating in Broward Water Partnership (BWP), which is a partnership of local municipalities who have come together to help save water, save money, and protect the environment. The collaboration marks a significant step forward in BWP’s mission to protect and restore natural habitats while promoting environmental stewardship at the local level. The partnership aims to address key water conservation challenges, including household leaks, low-efficiency water devices and more. BWP’s purpose is to enhance conservation initiatives and foster sustainable practices within Broward County. This is being accomplished through the Conservation Pays program and the “Each Drop Counts” awareness campaign which calls attention to water conservation best practices. Many BWP partners also offer residents free faucet aerators, showerheads, and pre-rinse spray valves.
“We are excited to welcome the City of Dania Beach to the Broward Water Partnership,” said Monica Pognon, Director of Broward County’s Natural Resources Division. “Dania Beach is joining 15 other municipalities in Broward County committed to water conservation. Toilets represent nearly 25 percent of an average home’s indoor water consumption. Dania Beach’s commitment to replacing old, inefficient toilets, can save up to 13,000 gallons of water per home per year, while providing a $170 water cost savings to their residents.”
Starting on October 1, 2024, Dania Beach residents, businesses, and nonprofits will be able to apply for $125 rebates to upgrade their toilets to high-efficiency toilets through a simple five-step application available online at conservationpays.com. Rebates must be pre-approved, are limited in quantity, and are available on a first come, first-served basis.
“By partnering with the Broward County Natural Resources Division’s Conservation Pays program we can offer our community the opportunity to save water and money. Residents can not only reduce their environmental impact but also lower their utility bills when they take advantage of the rebates available through the program,” said Dania Beach Mayor A. J. Ryan IV. “This is a win-win for everyone involved.”
