Rebates and Incentives Provides Opportunity to Make Water Conservation a Way of Life
Making water conservation a part of your daily life requires commitment. To help you get motivated to develop that commitment we have become an active participant in the Broward Water Partnership’s Water Conservation and Incentives Program.
The City of Sunrise (and the City of Weston), along with 17 other municipalities and water utilities, is participating in a multi-year program that provides rebates and free water-conserving devices to qualifying residents. The program will also help educate our community about the importance of water conservation to help meet today’s water demands as well as our future demands.
However, for us to reach our goal to save water, save money and save the environment, we need your active participation. And, we need you to help inform others about the program. Please tell your family, neighbors and other residents in our community about this opportunity before it’s too late. Because once the rebates and free devices are exhausted, they will not become available again until October 2013.
Begin making water conservation a daily habit now and you may save money, but more importantly, you will be taking an active role in saving water and the environment.
Please read below to learn more about Our Program and start conserving today.
The City of Sunrise is committed to water conservation and is providing rebates and free water-conserving devices to encourage you to do the same. However, funding and supplies are limited so don’t delay. Read below to find out more details about how you can save water and money. (Please note: City of Weston residents, who receive their water through the City of Sunrise, are eligible to apply for rebates.)
Qualifying participants are encouraged to replace their current toilet(s) that use(s) more than 1.6 gallons of water per flush with WaterSense® certified High-Efficiency Toilets (HET). Rebates are provided for up $100 each, or the cost of the HET, whichever is less.
Single-family, townhouse and condo applicants may receive up to two (2) rebates per qualifying water accountholder and must own and reside in the home at which they are replacing the toilet(s).
Property owners, and property managers who are authorized by property owners, of multi-family housing units, not-for-profit agencies, commercial buildings and institutional facilities may receive up to five (5) rebates or may submit a request to receive more.
